Why the name, Sweet Iris?
On June 11, 2017, at the age of 97, my beautiful Mother departed this world for a much better one.
She was one of my biggest supporters and I miss her greatly. When she moved to a long term care center in 2016, I moved my studio into her old room. As I work, I look out the same windows with a view of the garden that she looked out at as she sat in her recliner and crocheted.
I had known for a while that the name I had chosen for my business, From the Heart Jewelry, was already in use by someone else. As I spent time regrouping after Mom’s passing, I decided I needed to change my business name to something honoring her. She loved puttering in the garden, so it seemed appropriate to use the name my brother had given her when he helped her set up her first email address, Sweet Iris.
